Hi! My name is Tobias. I’m a PhD candidate in the Cornell department of entomology, co-advised by Dr. Bryan Danforth and Dr. Scott McArt. I’m a community ecologist currently exploring the dynamic interactions between microbes, insects, and agricultural ecosystems. My research integrates fieldwork, molecular tools, and ecological theory with real-world applications for sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and environmental health.
I have worked in systems ranging from agricultural pest management, to studying microbial communities using molecular techniques, to developing new conservation monitoring workflows using UAVs and image detection algorithms. My background includes both basic bench top science as well as heavily applied work with significant extension components.
I am graduating in May 2026 and am currently seeking new research and work opportunities — feel free to explore my work and get in touch!
